The series remains above average and worth spending time with as this is something of a character reset in Season 7. The premise of the show remains strong but the writing is getting bumpy. Some good scenes are sometimes connected by dubious means of connecting the plot points. Trying to move the stories along with an increasing number of characters takes the focus off the two main characters who are being shifted into being devices for the narrative rather than driving the narrative. The series remains above average and worth spending time with as this is something of a character reset in Season 7. This series remains above average and so is still worth watching. However, like most series, the longer the series continues the more the main characters tend to mellow and the side stories begin to be more prominent. As a result, the series loses some of its dramatic steam as resolutions are becoming common rather than more outer and inner conflicts which make for more interesting narratives. This series remains above average and so is still worth watching. Can a bipolar addicted movie star write a very funny, if somewhat disorganized, book about her life. In this case, yes she did. Besides the humour and the OMG moments while reading her stories one of the messages about LaLa tinsel town is that it is tinsel. To use a frequent Hollywood quote “It rips off the tinsel to reveal the real tinsel underneath”.Can a bipolar addicted movie star write a very funny, if somewhat disorganized, book about her life. A gentle pull of the leg on the Swedish noir genre there are many light moments through the book which of course contrasts with the usual brooding Scandinavian detective story although there are light brooding moments as well!

This is one of the creepiest mystery stories I’ve read so Halloween might be a perfect time to reserve this Stuyvesant/Grey sequel. As an addition to the whodunit plot there is a conclusion to the romance between Grey’s sister and Harris which ran through the first book in the series, Touchstone. This looks like the end of the series but although only a slight hope exists for a further addition I for one would definitely go for another one, if one slightly less creepy. This is one of the creepiest mystery stories I’ve read so Halloween might be a perfect time to reserve this Stuyvesant/Grey sequel. James Patterson's stylistic presentation, which he states is "colloquial", is like an informal conversation with an interesting person spinning stories about his past, so it's more a memoir than an autobiography. Besides being informative about his background as to how he became a best selling author, possiblely the GOAT, at the end of the book I felt that I knew who James Patterson was as a personality and as a man.James Patterson's stylistic presentation, which he states is "colloquial", is like an informal conversation with an interesting person spinning stories about his past, so it's more a memoir than an autobiography. As an appreciative reader of Gail Bowen’s Kilbourn series, working through the books in sequence is helpful in enjoying their developing family history as they age through the series. Few writers try to tell this genre through a family lens given the inherent plotting difficulty of meshing family dynamics with the action needed to move the narrative along. As such, the series does not fit well into the standard murder/mystery genre as it is based not so much on the pattern of clues, search, resolution as to how the main character’s family and friends respond and change to violence touching their lives. As an appreciative reader of Gail Bowen’s Kilbourn series, working through the books in sequence is helpful in enjoying their developing family history as they age through the series. A realistic look at police work with a high level of acting performances, an excellent script based on a real case, and which is set in the modern London area.

After reading this series, the latest instalment by award winning Saskatchewan writer, Gail Bowen, about her central character Joanne Kilbourn, was a slower read and a notch below her high standards. In part this is a development coming from the chronological aging of her characters and the passing on of the drama to the younger generation thus pushing Joanne more to the sidelines of the developing story lines. Perhaps this is also a reflection of the aging of the writer herself. Nonetheless, I would recommend the Joanne Kilbourn series to any reader who like’s a mystery series based on family situations. After reading this series, the latest instalment by award winning Saskatchewan writer, Gail Bowen, about her central character Joanne Kilbourn, was a slower read and a notch below her high standards.
