We Need Diverse Books: #OWNVOICES in Children's Lit!

#OWNVOICES books are written by authors who share a marginalized identity with characters that they're writing about; across race, ethnicity, Indigenous Nations, language, gender, sexuality, ability-impairment, class, religion, etc. This emerging movement in Children's Lit encourages more authentic cultural representation in the publishing world and empowerment of diverse authors, diverse stories! This is a growing list that I'll add to focusing on picture books, fiction and non-fiction for youth ages 0-12 across many, many topics. Check back in and grab an #OWNVOICES book today!
