A superb film and, in view of the political shenaningans going on in Italy this spring and early summer, very timely. It takes a swipe at the people who are running our world, not just in Italy, and our sheepish acceptance of their immorality and ineptitude. It does so with humour, though, and constucts a slightly complex but well-presented story that entertains while it leaves us pondering many questions. Toni Servillo is amazing in the dual leading roles. Fans of Italian cinema will remember him from Il Divo and a number of other highly-rated movies. There are reminders of Peter Sellars' 'Being There' that make you realize it's almost impossible to satirize world politics, reality is crazier than fiction. Those who want their movies to fit into categories - 'comedy', 'drama' etc. may find this confusing. If you don't mind your films being as skew-whiff as the world you live in, you'll probably enjoy it.
