A genre-busting novel featuring robotic arms, a hidden nationality, a club consisting entirely of women named Lois, and a possibly sentient sourdough starter. The writing is concise but full of quirky expressions and references to pop culture (and sourdough culture). I enjoyed it immensely, though I kept half-expecting something much more ominous to happen (that sourdough is just slightly creepy)… Eventually something horrible does happen – but it turns out to be actually comical and quite tasty. Literally. This book – like a fine sourdough – is made to be savored.
