Remember when M. Night Shyamalan first came on the scene and made good movies? How about the first the time you saw Twin Peaks? This book reminded me of that. It's not like it was the greatest piece of literature, but I have to admit I could not put it down and had to find out what the hell was going on. Thanks to some experimentation in the 80's and 90's my brain is a tiny bit off, and I really had no clue what was happening and all of my guesses were wrong in the end. I wish now I would have only bought the first piece though because I can't imagine this working as a trilogy. It seems to me that it would be better with a bizarre and cryptic ending and I'm afraid it's going turn into another soap opera from here on out.
