Wallis in Love

the Untold Life of the Duchess of Windsor, the Woman Who Changed the Monarchy

I have read a few books about Wallis Simpson ans was not sure I should read yet another one. Because of Andrew Morton’s access to some never seen materials (see his acknowledgments at the end of the book) we discover more information about a woman who was never truly happy. Morton emphases just how unfulfilling her marriage to the Duke of Windsor was and how he should have listened to her and not gone ahead with the abdication. She in fact knew this was to be a terrible mistake. The book also reveals the real object of her affections, Herman Rogers. Finally, the reader truly realizes how the lives of the Duke and Duchess were but a series of parties, devoid of any deep meaning or purpose.
