The character of Imogen (Judi Dench) is so languid and limp, an easy target for the wolfish Otto Beck (Jeremy Irons). All three sisters live in isolated worlds. Imogen tries to escape her dreary life, but slowly realizes a life with Otto would be even drearier. A "falling out of love" story.
