Since the murder of their daughter on Christmas night, 1996, John and Patsy Ramsey have lived a nightmare of grief, fear, and persecution. Throughout the onslaught, they have remained quiet, patiently trusting that the focus would finally turn to finding the person who committed this heinous crime. The Death of Innocence contradicts the myths, half-truths, and outright lies that have been published as fact in this tragic case. It also tells of the Ramsey's faith in God, their trust that He is in control, and their relationship with Him that has seen them through this tortuous ordeal. From the people who have lived it, this is the entire story for the first time-from the inside out.

What "compromised the pursuit of truth" in the murder of little Jon-Benet Ramsey was the incompetence of police officers who immediately allowed the crime scene to be compromised and contaminated by a constant flow of non-law enforcement people (the Ramseys and their friends and family included), the corruption of the DA (who appeared to actually be working with the defense attorney to clear the Ramseys in spite of the mounting circumstantial evidence against them), and especially and most damning, the complete refusal of John and Patsy Ramsey to present themselves for interviews that might have helped the Boulder police solve the crime. Perhaps that was because their cooperation would almost surely have led to their being charged.
For a better perspective on this self-serving claptrap, read "Jon-Benet: Inside the Ramsey Murder Investigation" by former lead investigator Steve Thomas--who eventually quit the Boulder Police Department in protest--and also Lawrence Schiller's scholarly "Perfect Murder, Perfect Town."
