James Sim is plunged into a world of lies and conspiracy when he encounters a man bleeding to death in a park on a Sunday morning. The man utters a few phrases to him about a vague terrorist plot, none of which explains the word contained in his last gasp, "Samedi". While James tries to sort though his confusion of what happened, he is shortly abducted and is taken to an isolated mansion which he suspects is the source of the conspiracy. Here, he must decipher the lies fed to him from the seemingly benign organization that operates the house, and uncover the mystery behind "Samedi" before it is too late, both for him and for the United States.

Ball's use of amazing metaphors throughout the story eases the reader into the thrill of poetry while racing along in a quick-paced plot, a very unique experience. If you are tired of the same old novel, this one's for you!
