I enjoyed this book. A great tale that touches on the stages of building a fort as well as of girl power. As the afterword by the author explains, it will make you think of its predecessor -- The Little Red Hen fable. I like it because it takes the story further by ending on a note of teamwork and inclusion. A lovely modern spin on an old classic.

What kind of fort would you create? What types of plans should you draw? What kind of supplies will you need to collect? Find out what Ruby is up to in her own backyard!
