Everyone on Grimloch Lane enjoys the trees and shrubs clipped into animal masterpieces after dark by the Night Gardener, but William, a lonely boy, spots the artist, follows him, and helps with his special work.
Beautiful illustrations but very spare text means there's not a lot of "there there" to keep the attention of my 4.5 yr old. I would have liked to read it more times than she did.
A beautifully illustrated enchanting story. Wouldn't it be wonderful to wake up each day with amazing garden creations? Beauty can be created in some many way and this books highlights an art that was once prominent in gardens. A delightful read!
Every time we opened this book, there was something new to notice on the pages. There was depth in the illustrations and the story. Reflecting on this story is pleasant and inspiring; it leaves me filled with hope and thoughts of what I can do to improve my own community.
Very nice book with a lot of subtle things in the artwork (the boy lives in an orphanage). It makes for great discussion of what is going on that is unsaid, and ends leaving reader and listener with a very positive and hopeful feeling. It can be read and reread by children growing up and they will glean more and more from the book as they get older and understand the world better. Great book to add to one's own library.

Beautiful and inspiring for me and my little ones. It makes me want to leave secret works of art in my community with my kids. Well done Fan Brothers!
