None feel the loss of a President more keenly than Alex Cross, who has devoted his life to the public good. A sniper's bullet strikes a target in the heart of DC. Alex Cross's wife, Bree Stone, newly elevated chief of DC detectives, faces an ultimatum: solve the case, or lose the position for which she's worked her entire career for. The Secret Service and the FBI deploy as well in the race to find the shooter. In light of the recent death of President GHWB, this book was a spot "on" thriller, action packed, and thought provoking as well; that should make a number of us ask the big question... Whoa, couldn't this actually happen. Maybe not for the exact examples given...but we continue to see the evolution of society and the family Cross. Where will JP take us next?

Yet another fast-paced thriller from James Patterson! This is the newest volume in the Alex Cross series and the strongest volume out of the last couple published.

A great read - complicated story - but well crafted. One of the best Alex Cross books ever. Truly a page turner that kept your interest until the very end. Good way to end the year!!!

Very good reading. I especially enjoy the books when Patterson has no second writer. They are the best.

Wow! James Patterson has outdone himself with TARGET ALEX CROSS. [I really like his books when he remains the sole writer; the coauthored ones are quite good, but his stand alone books are always crisper and edgier.] In this novel he takes up the usual mayhem surrounding homicides in the DC area, cross-agency collaboration/in-fighting, and a family trying to juggle growing kids and two-bread winners with high-level law enforcement jobs - oh, and let's not forget Alex's side-line job as a psychologist. All the usual stuff is there, and then in this book he layers over it the death of the US President and several of the next-in-line successors in short order behind her. And he leaves dangling in a more startling and obvious way than usual, the next Alex Cross novel. This is a very complicated, convoluted, and frankly, socially-scary books he has ever produced. A great read. Enjoy.
