Pretty predictable and only recommended if you want to waste some time. Also, you get to see Dwight Schrute in a totally different role!

Glad I didn't waste my money watching this movie in the theater. Thought I might , but changed my mind because it reminds me of the movie Jaws. It was similar to Jaws, but somewhat better. This movie is similar to the first Jurassic Park made in 1993, except this is in the ocean. The first Jurassic Park I found it to be very good. I would give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5. The Meg 1 1/2 stars out of 5. Looked up Megalodon on google and it says that the Megalodon did actually exist 2.6 million years ago much like the T Rex 65 million years ago. The producer actually did his homework when they described the details about the Megalodon . I give them a thumbs up for that. Also ... I didn't noticed any swearing in this movie. I give them a thumbs up for that as well. Its good for young teens and up. Depending on the person watching it , it may or may not give you nightmares. If you are prone to nightmares , I wouldn't recommend watching this movie. Too much junk out there. Garbage for your brain.

Objectively terrible... but fun!

Jason Statham fans will like this movie. It's mainly about a HUGE shark(s). He doesn't do his thing beating up guys, but the shark nearly gets the better of him. I don't think I should say any more tho, without giving away what happens. It wasn't a bad movie to watch.

Predictable and hilarious, need to fast forward during non Meg scenes

Have you ever wonder what would happen if you took Jaws, Jurassic park, Deep blue sea, and all the sharknado movies and mix them up together, you would probably get The Meg. Yes! The Meg, which is short for Megalodon. It is really entertaining, and it’s fun to watch, I am a huge fan of watching this type of movie. It gives you chills and well of course jump scares. But just like most of the movies based on this particular theme, it’s kinda familiar how this movie gonna go and you might already know what will happen, not most of them but some. Overall, it’s good, the characters are amazing and it is fun to watch with your family or friends. 3/5 Stars. @moviefanatic of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

If you've seen... Well, every shark movie ever made than you aren't missing anything new here. The very obviously computer generated effects are really not that enticing and if you've seen Deep Blue Sea (much better movie than this) it's the Same Exact Movie only much more frightening, funny and better acting and effects. And I swear if I see one more Jason Statham-as wise-cracking-hard-ass-super-macho-manbutilookgoodwhileI'mdoingit-movie I'm seriously going to blow chunks in his smartass face!!!

I was skeptical at first given the bad reviews/ratings by others, but was pleasantly surprised. It was actually a good movie, enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this not-jaws movie. A change from Statham's regular movies. Not to be taken too seriously. Just keep swimming ...

I was pretty surprised. Despite others not being wild about this, I thought it was good. Statham does a good job creating a different character. Meg was fairly well done, though obviously not an ILM production.
Very obvious Asian finance involvement.

28 quotes already posted in IMDb and they are good like this one from the little girl:
Jonas Taylor: You know a lot.
Meiying: Eight-year-olds hear everything.
Surprised that this one repeated in different ways has not been posted:

Suyin, what you said before, you were right. It's not about the people you lose. It's about the people you save.

I left my two best friends to die. I think about it all the time. Every day I replay it. Could I have done more?
-It's not just about the ones you lose. It's also about the ones you save.
