While I can't say I'm a fan of this series' brand of eccentric vs straight man comedy, its general lack of character development, or its less-than-inspired situation gags, there's definitely still enough here to make it a nice fast food-quality read. Unable to tame and form a contract with a more traditional demon, Patty forms a contract with a demonology expert who'll help her search for her notorious father in exchange for the opportunity to observe demon culture up close. Together, the two go on what is essentially a demon world road trip full of idiotic accidents and hijinks that'll prove what a great bodyguard/familiar Norman really is.

A fun, light comedy with a bit of a roadtrip angle as our pair sets off to find Patty's father and more interesting devils and daemons to research -- not necessarily in that order of priority, of course.

The art style is clear and expressive, with the monster and devil designs managing to be fun and distinct while still clearly inhabiting the same world. I liked seeing the various monsters especially. There isn't too much character depth, but there's enough to make things lively and fun. The plots are a little basic but still engaging. Norman is a hoot.

Overall, a fun read. I'll pick up the next volume for sure, though it hasn't quite cemented itself as something I'll really look forward to reading every time.

Patty has a human familiar! He is very eager to study demons and most creatures they encounter. Easy, enjoyable read!
