If you're looking for some historical romance that doesn't feature your average couple, this trio of novellas is definitely worth having a look. The first, Promised Land, is about a Jewish woman who has faked her death in order to be able to fight for the Revolutionaries. But now, years later, she comes across the one man she can't hide from: her husband. In the second, The Pursuit Of..., a black soldier and the strange British officer whose life he saved at Yorktown take a journey. In the third, That Could Be Enough, a maid in Eliza Hamilton's household can't shake her attraction to the young woman who has come to tell her grandfather's story in his stead. All three had me making heart eye emojis the whole time. Additionally, each one is concluded with an author note about their research and reasons for writing that particular story, and they boost the wonderful from a 4.5 to a full five stars.
