Comment
Add a CommentThe author gave an excellent overview of the values that Frederick Douglass upheld. I would recommend this book for someone who is too advanced for beginner books, but not looking for a lot of detail like titles found in a teen section.
Frederick Douglass' amazing life resonates especially during this year that commemorates 50 years since the death of Martin Luther King. Like King, Douglass' was a powerful orator, who recognized his own significance and was able to affect powerful changes to society during his lifetime. A true American hero for all.
This is the first biography that I have ever read about Frederick Douglass. I knew a little bit about Frederick Douglass before reading this book, but feel so much more knowledgeable after finishing it. I really enjoyed all the pictures throughout.
