It can be anything. A fanged monster that won't stay on the movie screen. Something ominous lurking in the basement. A malevolent force in a small New England town takes the shape of a clown, but It isn't clowning around. Instead, It terrifies youngsters with their innermost fears, bringing some to their untimely doom -- until a group of wily neighborhood kids fight back. Thirty years later the evil resurfaces: meaner, angrier, deadlier. And the friends who vividly remember the terrors of their youth reunite to make a desperate stand against It.

Spooky Season with Stephen King

While it might be easy to dismiss stories of the paranormal as fake, a “killer clown” story is something that scares even the most hardened non-believer. Maybe that’s why so many people lined up to see the next installment of the highly anticipated movie It: Chapter Two in theaters. If you haven’t seen the first "chapter" of It from 2018 (the highest-grossing horror movie of all time), or Stephen… (more)

Great TV mini-series from 1990. It definitely shows its age, especially with the effects - but if you can get past that, there is GREAT story-telling here. Tim Curry is creepy as heck. Many of the creepy/scary aspects it is amazing to me that they made it on television back in 1990! Also, there is a Director/Actor commentary that is worth watching for the die-hard fans.

This show was okish. I was glad that I was able to watch both sides of the disk. IT wasn’t terrible but it also wasn’t great. The special effects weren’t great and it wasn’t scary at all. It still has some good parts but the new IT is 100% better. Plus the trailer for IT chapter 1 & 2 look way better than this entire show. This is more related to Stephen Kings novel but it is not as good as the new one. If you actually want to see a good Horror Show I would suggest watching the new IT. Plus the new IT clown and the whole show is creepier. I mean it was probably awesome in 1990 but because I saw the new movie first I like that one better.

The movie is better than the stupid 2017 one. I like it for what it was in 1990.

This copy was destroyed by someone who works there. Your tax dollars at work. Thanks guys. Someone in 2019, 40 years after the induction of the cd/dvd, doesn't know you *CAN'T WRITE ON THE PLAYING SURFACE!* The clear inside ring DOES NOT have data on it. The shiny part DOES. So, I can only see side one. I honestly didn't know it was possible to not know how to handle a simple disc this late in the game. Dvds/cds play from inside out. They DO NOT need "cleaning" from moronic devices that just scratch the heck out of them (look at the surface of many of these discs-mechanically scratched!). There is one 3 mile long line of data. You wipe them with a clean CLOTH (NOT a paper towel, NOT a Kleenex-that's WOOD) middle to outer surface. Non scratching soap is ok. Best yet: don't TOUCH the disc. NEVER Ever

A product of its time. Considering this was a made-for-broadcast TV miniseries in the 1990's, it was pretty well done. When this series premiered on ABC in the early 90's, it scared me and everyone else my age that I knew half to death. It probably ruined the concept of clowns for an entire generation of people. Of course, the modern movie is a much better representation of the source material. Having a big budget and being able to have a full R-rating gave it a few easy advantages. But the original is still the only thing close to a family friendly (-ish, sort of, almost) PG version you can scare the younglings with. Though for the sake of the younglings and probably the clown profession, you may not want to.

Hilariously bad! Very entertaining, melodramatic, and corny. Tim Curry chews the scenery in every scene he's in. But then it goes downhill; the corny acting can be grating after a while, the effects are an insult to humanity, and the unbalanced ratio of the adults to kid scenes removes what made the book enjoyable. The book was enjoyable because the kid's acted like real kids, mostly. Here, I felt that the kid's acted more like adults, and the adults acted more like kids. Am I the only seeing this?

Pretty much exactly what one would expect of a Stephen King adaptation: the section with the kids is good, the section with the adults not so much, it's longer than it has to be (IT is more or less the same story, twice) and you probably know the ending already if you have read many of this author's books. The best part is Tim Curry; he has a gift for elevating mediocre material. This is a TV adaptation, so the production values are not high. But it is mostly without cheap jump scares and blaring "scary" music, which marred the otherwise good recent adaptation.

Yuck. I couldn’t finish it. Not sure why they remade this. Both “IT’S” are awful. Not even Tim Curry or Richard Thomas could help IT along.

MUCH better than the modern remake hands down! This classic scared me as a kid!

I just watched the new IT movie, and the older mini series is the best. The new one has great CGI but this one has better storyline that follows the book better. Both series have great young actors. But this one has no swearing, and less graphic gore.

This dvd killed my tv... I wish I was kidding. At about 3:30 am DVD player turned on and started playing this disc, when it got to the scene where penny wise pulls Georgie into the sewer the tv raised its volume to MAX volume as Georgie was being murdered, on its own! We coul not turn the tv off and couldn’t turn volume down, it wouldn’t let us even with manual controls. So we had to unplug tv to stop the madness!
In the morning the tv wouldn’t even turn back on.
I would have to say that was the SCARIEST way to be woken up ever!
This movie was scary beyond belief because it decided to come in in the middle of the night by itself and scare the ever living life out of me and my beau. 5 stars scary.
