Really bad. I'm actually angry I wasted my time on this film and angry at the writer and director for making it.
Great premise and great acting. The last third of the movie just made no sense and didn't stay true to it's protagonist or story line.

Don't waste your time with this one. I did, so take heed. Just one quote from IMDb, which summarizes it better than I could:
"Virtue signalling doesn't begin to define this self-righteous piece of Hollywood tripe. Only thing redeeming about it was the ending. We should be so lucky in real life that the entire Hollywood community would follow Beatriz's lead."

Comedy, NOT! Having said that, the acting was excellent but wasted on plot that became increasingly annoying and went too far. The ending leaves you perplexed and left me regretting the the time I spent watching this movie. Truly unfortunate as this had great potential for raising questions about social and spiritual consciousness.

a) expected a comedy, it wasn't, and found it hard to adjust expectations
b) although the movie addressed real-life, 21st century issues from personal and global perspectives, it didn't offer hope
c) the movie is about relationships, although maybe atypical ones, yet I ended up not relating to any of the characters
d) the ending sucked
e) if you want a depressing movie about shallow people and capitalistic values triumphing over hope and kindness, this is the movie for you!

Salma Hayek's performance was intense. The other actors also played their parts well. However, the movie ending made me wish I had not bothered to watch the movie. It was very unsatisfactory - I could think of other endings that would have made more sense.

3.5 STARS -- This is an uncomfortable, heartfelt story from an earnest author. But what makes the particular movie special is the acting. Principally, Salma Hayek -- knockout performance ! -- and also John Lithgow. The two of them make for a memorable pair in a story that might, in other hands, have drifted into... And yes, the word "COMEDY" on this DVD's liner notes is plainly movie-marketing-gone-wrong.

I was very disappointed. How in the world anyone found a moment of comedy in this film is beyond me.

NOT A COMEDY! I wonder if the person who wrote the synopsis on the back even watched the movie. What exactly is it about cancer, environmental devastation, and suicide that would be considered "provocatively funny"? Provocative, yes. Funny, no.

Quite unusual story but interesting. I was never bored watching it and would recommend.

As other reviewers have commented, this is definitely NOT a comedy. In fact there was nothing funny about it. One of those movies where you reach the end and wonder: What happened? Did I miss something? That can't be the end? Totally unsatisfying.
