Barbie and Ruth is the entwined story of two exceptional women. There's Barbie: the diminutive yet arrestingly voluptuous doll unveiled at the 1959 Toy Fair who became the treasure of 90 percent of American girls and their counterparts in 150 countries. Please write more! Weaves facts into interesting stories. Intrigues me to learn more. If only her books were on my high school reading lists.

Who knew Barbie was invented by a woman? Ruth Handler was a pioneering feminist, even if she didn't know it. Interesting to read her story, the ins and outs of corporate Mattel as well as her life story. Some jumping from topic to topic makes it a bit disjointed but still a good read.
