An excellent NOVA DVD that summarizes the causes of train deaths and injuries in the USA. Many of the tragedies could be avoided, but the USA is basically in the stone-age when it comes to train technology. While our trains poke along at 60 MPH, places like Europe and Japan are striving to provide safer travel at speeds over 100 MPH and eventually all the way to 350 MPH. I suspect that much of the problem in the USA is related to the tremendous number of Americans that are opposed to the study of science.
