"A brave little film that shows it's never too late to come of age."--Los Angeles Times.
"Field proves more than capable of delivering Showalter-level goofiness while giving the film its heart."--Entertainment Weekly.
"A winning comedy-drama built around one of cinema's most endearing leading ladies."--Newsday.
When Doris Miller meets John Fremont sparks fly-at least for Doris. In the cluttered house she shared with her late mother. When Doris begins showing up at John's regular haunts, she wins over his Williamsburg friends. Her new life brings Doris a thrilling perspective, but also creates a rift between her and her longtime friends and family, who believe she's making a fool of herself over a guy half her age.

#TBT: Happy Birthday, Sally Field!

For this Throwback Thursday, we celebrate the one and only Sally Field, who turns 70 on Sunday. This Scorpio first captured hearts in popular sitcoms Gidget and The Flying Nun. I, however, had the joy of being introduced to her on the big screen with Murphy's Romance and later Steel Magnolias. One of the great things about Sally Field, for me, is that I always thought she would be a great an… (more)

#TBT: Happy Birthday, Sally Field!

For this #TBT, we celebrate the one and only Sally Field who turns 70 this year on November 6th. This Scorpio captured the hearts of many as she began her career in television with popular sitcoms like "Gidget" and "The Flying Nun." I, however, had the joy of being introduced to her when she hit the big screen with Murphy's Romance, Punchline (with my other favorite, Tom Hanks), and of course… (more)

Saw this in the theaters when it came out and loved it! This indie film has a lot of heart and I'd be happy to watch it again and again.

Very funny--I laughed out loud--but poignant in story line as well

Picked it up as a 'chick flick' and was surprised that my husband loved it, too!

Enjoyable movie. Sally Field is perfect as Doris. Very well acted, funny and sad movie about an aging woman who has lived with and taken care of her mother until mother passed away.

VERY GOOD 2015 film with mature Sally Field glowing in her quirky comedy role. Lots of fab costuming, and more...

I like Sally Field, but she must have been desperate to take this role. In the end, I felt I had wasted an hour and a half of my life. It might be appropriate for an old maid who is going through a mid-life crisis.

I really liked this movie. All though it seems super unlikely that a woman of Doris'age may actually believe that a young handsome co-worker may be attracted to her, the supporting story made it believable. Full of quirky characters whom we found to be highly entertaining. I found that the story was told from Doris' perspective which helped us to see her logic and leap of faith make more sense. It was fresh and entertaining. Perhaps better for those who enjoy independent-type films or non-blockbuster 'character' films.
