From Library Staff

Wes and Corey aren't great musicians, so it’s no surprise when they get stuck in the worst group at jazz camp. Enter Ash, an heiress with a chip on her shoulder, and soon enough, the unlikely trio are planning their escape.

I have to start off by saying that this book is really not for me which is fine because it wasn't written for me. It might have been written for you! It will appeal to readers who enjoy an epic teen adventure a la an Abundance of Katherines, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist etc. Also, if you enjoyed the colorful yet realistic dialog from Me, Earl and the Dying Girl, then you will enjoy this too.

A hilarious story of three kids who decide to escape band camp and take their newly formed musical trio on tour. If you like music and raunchy humor, you'll enjoy this.

Doesn't quite live up to Andrews' debut Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, but that was a tall order and, if you take it as it is, the Haters has a ton of heart and is a ton of fun and super hilarious. Note: the humor may or may not be subjective depending on your tolerance for incredibly crude and sophomoric jokes.

I didn't like this book. At all.

It is an excellent twist on the teenage road trip genre with lots of action, romance and of course, experimental punk rock. Absolutely loved the music element about it and the adventure it took me on. Although it could definitely work on the ending as it was abrupt, unexpected and incomplete.
