This book was okay. The illustrations were amazing and very funny. However the word usage is a bit odd here. They are trying to use words that are the same to create context, using the title as an example such as Yaks, Yak, meaning the Yak's are talking. However the words are a bit complicated for the age of children that this book seems geared towards. I thought it would be a beginner reading book and it is not, it is more of an introduction to homophones. This would actually be more useful for the older children as it gives a definition on each page.

Great illustrations, lots of fun words, A variety of items in the pictures to point to and to talk about with children. A fabulous way to teach new meanings of words to kids.

beautiful illustrations, clever word pairs, not for children under 6 as they won't understand it.

Each page of this book has a homophone word pair in it, some examples. Yaks yak. Dogs dog dogs. Bats bat. Flounders flounder, rams ram, bugs bug bugs. The illustrations are funny for each page for example the bats bat one has a bunch of bats flying around wearing baseball hats holding bats and hitting baseballs. Each page has a definition of the homophone word. At the end there is a list of each homophone pair and its definition.
