As Ross says in the book, you have to embrace the dark and bitter moments in order to appreciate the bright ones. New and interesting characters and much more about the war in France. The new addition (2008) includes a genealogy chart for the Poldarks, Warleggans, and Chynoweth (Elizabeth) families. Worth copying in case future books do not include it.

Very interesting story line. Really emphasizes what a creep George Warleggan is just in case you missed it, before! If you love all things Poldark , you will love this book! Aunt Agatha plays a interesting role here, as well.

Another excellent book from the "Poldark" series. This gets four stars only for its dark, negative moments, especially at the end of the book. I was a bit disappointed at the bitter moments described by Graham. I just hope the next ones won't follow in the same dark steps...
