I had come across an old Mr. Coffee dehydrator at a garage sale a number of years ago and put it up in my attic. When I saw this book I knew the time had come to initiate the dehydrator. Making beef jerky is actually pretty easy. You can have the butcher cut the top round for you if you let them know you want to make jerky. The recipes in the book are easy to follow and the writer's style is fun and relaxed. I made the Whisky Jerky from page 50 and it was DELICIOUS! FYI and fair warning, the jerky reduces by a LOT when it dries. I actually started with two pounds instead of the recommended one. I also removed a bit of fat and silver skin. Ultimately I was left with about 12 ounces of jerky.
