This is another one of those cookbooks that doesn't need to be written--you know, from yet another celebrity chef. It's pretty bad--most of the recipes aren't things that regular home cooks would even want to make (in my opinion). Don't get me wrong, maybe you like splashy cookbooks with tons of color pictures, it looks so nice and it's the right size for cookbook-reading (large but not coffee table sized). But that's the problem, it seems more for reading than for practical everyday home cooking--it's as if the author (Amanda Freitag) just could not take off her executive chef hat. The Introduction, where she talks about her fear of home cooking, is just not believable, nor are the accolades from other TV chefs on the back cover.

The turkey chili with unsweetened cocoa powder is delightful!

A Chef you can be with these wonderful recipes. Some are quite easy to make. Good recipe book!
