Celebrate Banned Books Week by checking out one of the top 10 banned books of 2013!

If you're like most adults you probably don't read graphic novels. If so, you're missing out one some great books that don't always feature superheroes in tights.

Like any good book, the best graphic novels feature fascinating settings, compelling narratives and complex characters who grow and change over time. Bone certainly fits that bill. The three protagonists of this series - the strangely drawn Bone cousins - flee their homeland and find themselves in a strange land that is quickly overtaken by war. As the story grows and we learn more about the major players in the Valley's political intrigue, we also see the Bone cousins hash out the old family drama that led to their expulsion from their homes Boneville. In that sense, it reminded me a lot of "The Lord of the Rings", with a dash of "Game of Thrones" mixed in.
