Powell prefers moody, fragmentary stories and ruminative narration. That, combined with his teeny-tiny lettering, make this a challenge to read. (Two autobiographical pieces by writer Rachel Bormann and a historical piece about Tulsa, OK are exceptions, and highlights.)
