You don't need magic, these words have power. This book, “Very Good Lives: the Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination” is derived from a commencement speech given by J. K. Rowling at Harvard University and it is centered on two aspects of Ms. Rowling’s journey: the benefits of failure and the importance of imagination.

J.K. Rowling did a speech at Harvard University and it was so good they turned it into a book. First, it is important to embrace failure because we learn from are mistakes. Next it is important to have an imagination to always not be so stressed. In the end I loved this book and hope she makes more speeches she turns into books.

An amazing speech! I wish I had the opportunity to hear J.K. Rowling say this in person. As a student, I felt her speech means a lot. Although I have not yet graduated, sometimes I feel that school seems to teach us the importance of "achievements" rather than being truly happy. The fact that I sometimes feel like life is about the amount you accomplished. Thanks to this book, it has set me the reminder that life is not about how much you accomplished and the importance of failure. I can tell you that failure is a not so good feeling. I appreciate her beautiful and inspiring speech and felt her journey not only impacted her but as well readers. I love her books! Hope she has continued success in her life!

Writing is definitely J K. Rowling's gift. Indeed, a most wonderful gift. And this small, but precious, and wonderfully written book is not just a wonderful gift for any graduating student but inspirational to read for all of us already out there in the big, wide, ever-challenging world. Bless. her.

This is not a new book by the author, it is her commencement speech she gave at Harvard University. Also, her speech can be seen on YouTube.
