The ninth installment in the delightful, internationally acclaimed series featuring Chief of Police Bruno.

Bruno's village of St. Denis has been called many things, but a hotbed of international intrigue has never been one of them . . . until now. When an undercover agent is found murdered just as a prodigal son is set to retun from a grim tour in the Middle East, the small town suddenly finds itself host to a determined global tribunal, threatening the usual cheer brought by St. Denis's annual wine festival.

With clever twists and action aplenty, The Children Return is a journey to St. Denis that readers won't soon forget.

I'm a fan of this type of writing. Bruno is a detective character I warm too, such a shame he meets with so much violence in his day to day life in a tiny French town. Like other readers, I particularly like the descriptions of food, eating, wine, locals people and the landscape. I'm reading this for the 2nd time, only because this is an American edition hardback and I didn't realise I had read it before. Lovely lovely hardback book with such taken in the production and design of the book - you can't feel the pages of an e-book

I picked this from the shelves with little expectation. Once home I was pleasantly surprised by this well rounded book's character development and the story unfolded under the artist's hand

This is another great story for Bruno fans. The blend of intrigue, romance, food, and wine in rural southwest France makes for enjoyable escape from the routine of midwestern America.

Bruno as James Bond is getting a bit tiresome, it would be nice if Mr. Walker returned to the original premise.

Another great entry in the BRUNO, CHIEF OF POLICE series -- though certainly much darker and lighter on local color than the first entries in the series. Ends on a most curious note that makes me look forward to the next book!
