Partner to the thrilling story of Rule of Three by Eric Walters, Fight for Power continues the tale of Adam and his neighbourhood sixty-six days after the massive global blackout that left the neighbourhood helpless. Trying to survive together, growing their own food, scavenging the city and rationing goods, Adam is troubled by the sight of the people camped outside the walls, begging to come in and the fact that a hundred men from the Division, a ruthless gang of men that wanted to destroy the neighborhood, are still at large. Regular guards are set up, Adam patrols in his ultralight, Brett and his mysterious squad patrol at night and things get better when a Cessna is acquired. But in this book, loyalties will be questioned and traitors will be unmasked, Adam is warned by the last person he expected and faces danger from the last place he expected.

Picks up where the first book left off. Another fast-paced adventure story about people banding together to survive without most of the technology we rely on. Entertaining.

One annoyance: the author gears this series somewhat to a teen audience so he keeps the romance story very G-rated. Must it be so sanitized?

This was a very nice book written about a possible catastrophe that can take place. Adam’s community has stopped the attack and are now safe and have to think about the future. They have survived so far from the blackout that is taking place throughout the whole world with the help of herb, a formal spy. The community has banded together and have survived, everyone using the talents they have to provide others with food, and protection. It seems as if everything will be ok but the community is exposed. They decide to build walls and set up look outs. Not having enough resources, the community decides to send a special taskforce to go out of the community every night and scavenge for items that could be useful, along with hunting for food. Adam plays his part by flying around in his ultra-light, checking for potential threats or useful resources. The taskforce proves to be a good idea and every day they bring in useful things, but along with this, the dangers outside grow. Eric walters has done it again with this amazing story and with nothing left, it really is a fight for power. With many surprises, Adam goes through many uplifting and sad moments and loses many loved ones but the losses only make him stronger. His worries and problems end up bringing him happiness when they are solved. I loved reading this book and there was not a moment when I thought of putting it down. I would recommend it to everyone who loves to read action and adventure books.

Canadian author Eric Walters has another big winner here; great sequel and book two to ‘The Rule of Thre3.’ My favourite Walter’s book so far was ‘End of Days (2011). Highly recommended by Senior Doctor-at-Bass! D. A.

Fight for Power - Fight For Power Series Book 2 - another exceptional book by Canadian author Eric Walters. This was my eighth Walter’s book and I intend to read many more of the 50 plus books that he has had published. Doctor-at-Bass-Fishing. Taylor A.

If you haven’t read The Rule of Three, I would advise you because this exciting adventure kicks off where The Rule of Three left you off at. The book “The Fight for Power” by Canadian author Eric Walters, who actually lives in Mississauga, Ontario, was a great read as I couldn’t put it down for a long time until I finished it. Adam and the committee of Eden Mills were dealing with the aftermath of blowing up a bridge to save their community from an attack by another band of survivors. After Olde Burnham was destroyed by a group of heavily armed survivors, Adam's group thought they were planning revenge against them. This book has had its ups and downs with its rating but I give it a solid 8/10 as the introduction was good, the rising action was okay there was a bit too much waiting which made me lose my interest in the climax a little bit, the climax was a bit late in the book but other than that it was great, although the falling action was too close to the denouement in my opinion both were still very good. My favorite part of this book was the falling action and the denouement as if you’ve read the book you can see that it always ends in such a way that is bold but leaves us with many questions to ask. Overall, this book was great and will be right behind the third and final book of The Rule of Three trilogy which is said to be named Will to Survive and possibly be released January, 19, 2016.

Once – sixty-six days ago, to be exact – life was normal for 16-year-old Adam Daley, his family and his suburban community of Eden Mills, Ontario.
Then a sudden, unexpected global loss of electricity and power occurred. Since then, in sixty-six short days, life has changed almost beyond imagination.
Now everything is in short supply: food, fresh water, fuel and medical supplies and services. Transportation and communication have virtually stopped. Even cell phones aren’t working. Schools, banks, stores, factories and all services are closed. Almost everything that people once took for granted in their daily lives is gone.
Trust and security are also in short supply. With the shortages and the uncertainty, desperation, and ruthlessness are growing. No one feels safe - no one can afford to feel safe or secure. People are struggling just to survive and to protect their families. There is widespread looting. Communities have banded together to protect the few resources that they have, closing themselves to “outsiders” and fortifying themselves against outside threats.
Worse, some communities have even been intentionally destroyed by others. In a horrific clash, Eden Mills has just narrowly managed to defend itself against a group of outsiders bent on destroying it.
Now a deadly threat from inside Eden Mills is brewing. Someone from within is plotting something which will destroy the community. Almost no one knows about it … but everyone will be affected.
“The enemy is everywhere.”
Fight for Power continues the suspenseful, enthralling and thought-provoking story that began in Eric Walters’ The Rule of Thre3, winner of the 2015 Red Maple Fiction Award. A third book in the series, Will to Survive, will soon be available.
** Recommended for ages 11 to 16 years.

"They were here, and we were together and safe.
No.
Safe might never happen again
Ever."
