Crown Fountain, Dentist Chair, Video Production, July 30, 2003Online Images - 2003-07-30
The dentist's chair that Chicagoans sat in to be filmed while making Crown Fountain's videos. The camera that was used to film the subjects was a high definition camcorder, the same kind that was used to film Star Wars: Episode One - The Phantom Menace. Since the camera was typically used to shoot movies, which are wider than they are tall, the camera had to be laid on its side while filming to accommodate Crown Fountain's dimensions. While the quality of the camera was excellent, it was not very maneuverable so rather than raise and lower the camera to film each individual, the barber's chair was used to raise or lower each person to the correct height for the camera.
