Looking northeast toward the BP Bridge as workers continue to install the stainless steel shingles, or "scales" onto the Bridge. If you look closely at the ladders the workers are using, you'll see thick, pink pads at the tops and bottoms. These were used to prevent damage to the shingles as they were being installed. Given that each of the 9,400 shingles on the BP Bridge was installed one at a time, the workers had to possess great skill and patience. Even small scratches or dents were immediately visible and unacceptable.
