One of the best manga/graphic novels ever written. With its intense, complex, high quality writing and drawing, as well as its 600+ pages, it has the kind of novelistic density and unity Watchmen has, so that Tekkonenkinkreet is a single, powerful, coherent story rather than a bunch of episodes strung together. And it's gripping, you get into this world and it stays with you

One of the best. This book is an amazing read as well as being a precursor to age of the graphic novel. I started reading and found myself so unable to put it down, that I read all 600 plus pages in one sitting. There is also a feature film based on this work that has been heavily recommended to me by quite a few people.
