much previously unavailable insider info, for example: concerning the CONCERT FOR BANGLADESH, both Crosby, Stills and Nash, and the Rolling Stones, called George Harrison up, and volunteered to appear. George said no, to both. Paul was asked to appear, but he "demurred". John was asked, Yoko wasn't, so, though John at first agreed to appear on stage with 'George Harrison and Friends,' he couldn't follow through on that, for obvious reasons. Yoko went furious, and even asked Klein to ask John to ask George to let her appear. Allen wouldn't, neither would John. So, John wasn't there; he flew to Paris, expecting her to follow. But she did not. So, he flew back to her in NYC. The concert went on, and was a huge success. It was the first rock and roll charity concert, trailblazing the way for many to come. Yoko didn't like Allen Klein much, after that. Klein said he learned who needed who most in that relationship( JOKO), from the experience. It is stated several times that Klein revered Lennon. I found it hard to believe. That he preferred managing the Beatles to the Stones, I did not find hard to believe. Klein began by managing Sam Cooke. Circumstances surrounding Cooke's untimely demise didn't make it into this book. It is said that Klein advised Cooke's widow not to sell the songwriter's catalog to him, before she did it. On and on it goes. I felt very dirty after finishing it . Beware of ABCKO, indeed.

Wow - a great trainwreck story and not a line of cocaine in sight! You hear about Klein when you read the beatle books but this guy has a story to tell. Savior or con-artist? You have to be a bit of both maybe.
