This is my absolute favorite short film. The sketched animation by Canada's Frederic Back is to die for. I also love the score and Christopher Plummer's narration. It's a deeply moving tale about how one man's tireless work in planting trees in the face of war and suffering gives way for hope, beauty, and joy for generations to come. I never would have discovered this work of art if it had not been for my Canadian college professor who shared it with my class. It's hard to come by a copy of this film and it's expensive to own on Amazon, so take advantage of this free treasure and check it out.
