Brown's vision of capturing the struggle of average students overcoming many challenges during the early 20th century against elite Ivy League students is depicted with much insight. A great story that introduces the intricacies of moving from poverty in the United States to pursue interests in academics and university athletics. It is an awesome read knowing the novel was written based on real historical events.
