The further adventures of Eragon and his dragon Saphira as they continue to aid the Varden in the struggle against the evil king, Galbatorix.

I read “Earagon,” the first book in Mr. Paolini’s series, because I got talked into it. And it was pretty good, especially for a first novel written by a teenager, but unfortunately, I could never forget he was a teenager. I remember “Eldest” as one big battle scene: around 700 pages of it – about 500 too many for me. I resolved not to read any more of the series. Desperation for a book, any book ( Wal-Mart, 9:30 pm, 2 days before Christmas) brought me to “Brissinger”, book 3 of this dragon rider series. What a pleasant surprise! First of all, Mr. Paolini conveniently provided a synopsis of books one and two, which allowed me to refresh my memory of the myriad characters and important plot twists. Thus armed, I was able to plunge forward into the further adventures of Eragon and his blue dragon, Saphira, as they battle the evil minions of Galbatorix, he who wants to rule the world. “The Lord of the Rings” this is not. But still, the series is finally growing on me, and I will definitely be reading “Inheritance”.
