Gail Giles tells the story of Ames Fords who has everything, money, a good education, and the perfect family, or so she thinks she does. When her dad is accused of stealing from his job, everything goes downhill for Ames and her family. Their economical status forces them to move down to a slum in Texas. Ames dad was her hero, her idol, and learning that he is a thief, shatters that perfect image that she had of him. Betrayed, Ames tries to find some peace, but she finds it in the wrong person. Marc, the bad boy comes into her life, and the darkness that has been inside of her unveils. Gail Giles did a great job on this book, I really liked the way she described things. It really set that "movie" inside of my head. I recommend this book to people who like suspenseful books.
