Add a CommentSophomoric plot. Poorly written. I like my characters a little more rounded, the sex a little more loving. Didn't finish this one.
Started this series before the Rock Chicks and fell in love with all the characters. I loved that they start out kinda screwed up but work their way through it with someone special and the support of people who love you even when you are screwed up. I'm a real sucker for happy endings.

I've read this book twice in less than a year and I have only ever re-read one book in my life. Mystery Man was my first Kristen Ashley book and I have read 16 others since. I thought that, possibly, Mystery Man was my favorite KA read, because it was my first introduction to her books and style of writing. Nope. After 17 books ranging from Rock Chicks rom-coms to the fantasy of Three Wishes, I believe that Mystery Man is still my favorite KA book. With this second reading, I enjoyed all that comes to mind when thinking of this book, as well as the little things I had forgotten. Unfortunately, I also came across a part that frustrated me that hadn't before. It's not enough to warrant lowering my rating or change the contented happy face I got while reading and completing the book a second time. Although I find myself tiring of the KA formula as I read more of her books, this one will forever be a favorite.
Absolutely loved this book! Hawk Delgado is in my top ten with Gideon Cross and Christian Grey!
I've liked many other titles by Ashley, but not this one. I read the first 70 or so pages & couldn't take any more. What tipped me over the edge was the scene after the break-in when everyone is fighting over the freaked-out heroine like a dog over a bone & Hawk, the "hero", stops her from walking away by grabbing her arm & dragging her back. It's only a moment, but why did no one have a problem with this - including the heroine?! And that's on top of the fact that she knows nothing about him, not even his name. I know, I know, he's the mystery man, but seriously. I'm all for suspending reality, but his manipulations & her stupidity (because what else is it when you're sleeping with someone for over a year & don't know anything about them) quickly became too much.
1st book in this series kicks things of really nicely with all the themes > hot > sexy > fun. Hawks characters becomes more & more interesting as you learn about him. Pay attention to the secondary characters as they all have a role to play as the series progresses. There is a playfulness to these stories that really makes them enjoyable.
This is my first foray into Kristen Ashley work.... and it will not be the last! Now I am one hundred percent hooked! I loved it from the start to the amazing epilogue. This story is totally refreshing and ingenious. 514 pages and there was not a dull moment for me. I couldn't put it down, I was completely absorbed. Awesome characters, I love then all except for Ginger, I couldn't stand her. What she did was unforgivable. I don't care what the situation is, you just don't cross that line period. First I would kick her ass!!!! HEHEHE! then I would X her out my life for good. Love the COSMO GIRLS CLUB! they are so much fun! of-course with all those DROOL-WORTHY, OGLE- WORTHY, BAD-ASS man a HOT GUYS CLUB is definitely needed. With ALPAH HOTNESS at every turn you'll just want to SHAG them all! WOO-EE! I wanted to be SUPERHHAWK sweetpea...and I wanted him to be my MYSTERY MAN who visit me every night. chuckles out loud!!! BABE! This is the first entry in the series...next is WILD MAN Brock ''Slim'' Lucas story.
Love love love this author! Can't wait for more!!
I also really enjoyed this book. it was the first time I've read books by this author and i have to say, Im hooked. this is the first of her books that I've read and i read it in one sitting. The female character is so relatable and i enjoyed every scene she was in. i would defiantly recommend this book.
