A very average and disappointing effort by one of my favorite fantasy/sci-fi authors. A Sherlock and Watson meet Cthulhu mythos storyline that could have been fantastic just felt uninspired and super short. This is shorter than alot of short stories. I wrongly assumed this was a full length novel. The characters are underdeveloped and not all that interesting. Throw some gay pride awareness in there for unknown reasons and you have a real enigma. How did this end up so bad? Do better, Abraham, or drop this series like a hot rock. Either way, I'm likely never to try another Balfour and Meriwether title again.
