After serving nearly three decades in prison for his deadly crimes, Socrates returns to the streets of South Central L.A. to connect with old friends and encourage new ones to join him in his campaign to get to the heart of gang violence in the hopes of making a difference and saving the lives of others.
Great read on being black and trying to fit in Los Angles. Book was published in 2008 before Obama beat Hillary Clinton as the democratic POTUS nominee,

Another great Walter Mosley book. Love how his characters are so real, and his writing is just enthralling. Looking forward to reading more of his.
Always Outnumbered, Always Outgunned was the best of the series; even Walkin the Dog was better. This book wen't somewhere I don't know; it just was not our Socrates anymore. I missed him.
