A very interesting book about the things in Shakespeare's time and place and the culture they were a part of. Its more about English culture in the late 1500's and early 1600's, but a book like that probably wouldn't be able to be sold on its own, so Shakespeare had to be integrated into it. Which in turn raises the question: what other times and places are there that can be as well written about but aren't because those other times and places lack a Shakespeare (or some other major draw)?

Wonderful collection of interesting items from Shakespeare's world. Each bite-size chapter was entertaining as well as educational. Highly recommend this to high school students struggling with the plays and understanding why they were and remain so popular.
