Most retail traders haven't a clue how professional traders utilize "systematic asset selection processes" to generate trade ideas, protect firm capital, analyze securities (from a macro-economic and micro-economic view) overlaid with rigorous, self-awareness statistics to objectively assess their performance.

This book does one better in encouraging the reader to begin with an investment philosophy or a "coherent way of thinking about the markets" in order to first understand how markets / investors actually operate, then make a conscious choice in how you might want to participate, which makes all the difference.

Very few know what a [systematic asset selection] framework even looks like; this book provides a time-tested one (in the first few pages)! Most amateurs dilly-dally with technical analysis, monitor a few markets and economic indicators (Non-farm Payrolls, anyone?) deeming it sufficient to make consistent profits for income... How's that working-out?

Well, industry statistics are that roughly 90% of retail traders lose 90% of their capital in 90 days aka the "90/90/90 Rule" whether trading in equities, currencies, bonds or commodities. If you're an amateur, retail trader, it's highly unlikely you're not in that camp or about to be. But don't take my word for it! Give it a solid "go" for six months. Put at least 100 trades on over that period. Give it a year (whatever it takes to build a decent sample size of representative trades) then look at your performance and be really, really honest with yourself.

If you truly desire to take the professional trader approach i.e. if you're serious about trading / investing -- STOP what you're doing and read this book. It will change the way you approach yourself, the markets, investing and building wealth for a lifetime, which is what professional trading and investing is all about.

Very few educators have been professional traders or know how they approach the markets with billions, if not trillions of dollars of investor / shareholder capital on-the-line. You think a few (lagging) technical indicators and (lagging) economic reports are enough? Think again. This book will start you on the path towards the professional trader approach.

I should know . . . I am one! Aswath is a rare gem in this industry. Read everything he's ever written, though not all of it is easy to grasp, especially when the math hits the fan, but hang in there. (Nobody said it's going to be easy, but if they did, they've never really done the work.) Visit his website. Watch his videos. He's got a huge heart and offers much of it for free. Can't recommend him enough! 10 stars! Thanks for reading and good luck in your pursuits.
