It sounds like a joke, or at least the kind of problem the X-Men certainly don't need to trouble themselves with: alligators in the sewers, the ultimate urban myth. But rumor becomes deadly reality when strange, reptilian creatures are found to be living under Manhattan.

Classic soap opera problems weight on this one. Due to editors wanting the current characters they are trying to hype, to be included in as many stories as possible... 1, a claustrophobic character spends most of this story crawling through sewers. 2, Spiderman's presence (he sold his soul to the devil to get rid of his wife and move back in with his beloved aunt). 3, An issue spent on Jubilee's feeling about having different powers than the other mutants.
