Follow nature photographer Michael Forsberg as he examines the remaining wilderness in the Great Plains of North America. Featuring stunning imagery, the program is based on Forsberg's book of the same name. Less than 200 years ago, the Great Plains was one of the greatest grassland ecosystems on Earth, stretching nearly a million square miles down the heart of the continent. But as America grew, and the land was settled and tamed, the wilderness began disappearing.

Beautifully photographed by American cameraman, Michael Forsberg - "Great Plains" is an informative PBS wildlife/nature documentary that sadly spells out the diminishing vastness of the Great Plains of the central United States that stretches from Canada and goes right down to the Gulf of Mexico.

Through the environmental importance of this presentation, concerned biologists are hoping to educate people and encourage them to help preserve this massive territory and protect the threatened wildlife that are being systematically destroyed by the blindness of man's progress.

Yes. "Great Plains" is yet another serious wake-up call not only for Americans, but, for one and all, to act now before it's all gone, and, sadly enough, before it's too late.

Rapture in the splendor of the Great Plains’ ecosystems and wildlife. Photographer Michael Forsberg narrates with deep passion and insight. The companion book will allow you to linger and appreciate our regional wilderness even more.

Aside from portraying Ducks Unlimited as a conservation organization, it was excellent. Two episodes of about 1 hour each. Stunning photography that you won't see anywhere else. Beautiful vistas and aerial videography as well.

Another outstanding PBS documentary. This one follows photographer Michael Forsberg as he takes us through the intricate biosystem of the Great Plains, the threats to the land, and the wealth of diverse life forms to be found there. Essential viewing for anyone with an interest in the region, particularly these days, when so many of these places and creatures seem to be under threat by the disregard of government or business.
