A very easy read with sad overtones. Combining the separate sounds of nature into a complete and whole sonic perception is interesting and somewhat unique. Comparing the natural symphonies of discrete locations over time reveals in another way the large impacts of of our modern world on the natural environments. Native americans have been describing this degrading of the natural environment for decades. It is important to realize environmental impacts at every level the modern human civilization is producing. Understanding is different from hysrionics current environmental groups today express. Mr. Krause seeks to inform with this book, not produce a silent spring of panic. A very interesting and easy summer read.
