Wonderful book. Dystopian future, slightly steampunk, great heroine. Nice pace to the story as well.

A very readable story. The pace was good, the characters are believable, and the writing was great all the way through. Looking forward to the sequel.

Written with gorgeous prose, this story starts off with a dystopian vibe, but then quickly throws in elements of steampunk and magic. Add in trees made of iron, cannibals and shape-shifting bird with a heart of diamond, and you get a uniquely rich novel.
