Eccentric characters, town Mouthe (known for having the coldest recorded temperature in France,) racy cheese ads, a hot weather reporter, a French James Ellroy writer etc. made an original whodunit mystery with a good mix of humor and twists.

A French mystery writer suffers from writer’s block and he finds a story about a beautiful blonde that is mysteriously found dead buried in a snow bank. He explores the woman’s past and using details of her life writes his next novel. Is this film really an imagining of the circumstances of the life and death of a famous American blonde actress? Hey it’s only a film. Upon leaving the film not only we thank the writer for imagining the blonde’s life story, the writer also gets a thank you note from the blonde.

Beautiful cinematography. The snow, color and lighting, breathtaking. Good story. We all have a fascination with Marilyn. The relationships are quirky and funny.

In a nutshell, Twin Peaks ala Française. A good mystery and great acting.

Very slow moving.. Some likeable moments. It had a better potential.

Nicely done and original French mystery. A bit of a David Lynch fee, but lighter.

This was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Very good acting, some nostalgia, romance, intrigue and humor. This film has it all.

"To my sole nephew, David Rousseau, I bequeath Toby, for I know he loved him dearly."
-Toby? Isn't he dead?
This is... The coldest town in France. "Little Siberia".
I have an idea. A title in any case.
-That's a start. What is it?
"No Man's Land".
-Not very catchy, is it? What's it about?
A town called Mouthe, where a local starlet is found dead. A blond who did cheese commercials. A cheese star... In a no man's land... In Mouthe...
When I came out of the showers, I walked real slow, like Madonna in Vogue. The boys ogled that suit as if it were a gold mine.
I don't like it when books and films end, even less when they end badly. I like happy endings. But in real life, it's rarely the case.
The people who love you without knowing you, will later hate you without knowing you...
Why did you join the police?
-The majorettes didn't have my skirt size.
