I bought this book since so many of the classic British recipes looked wonderful. I need to make the Eccles cakes asap!

Americans beware: while most of the measurments in this British cookbook have been converted, there are some ingredients which aren't necessarily as familiar, such as self-rising flour (the recipe for which you can find online). Otherwise, this book as a variety of interesting and usual recipies, since by "vintage" it refers to the whole of English history (though there is an emphasis on the Victorian Age).
